Delete your account
Applies to GL Reader and to your GenLaw account, which are the same login.
Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone. One account signs you in to both GL Reader and GenLaw, so deleting it removes everything in both.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in — the account itself, so you can no longer log in anywhere.
- Every document you uploaded, and the files behind them in storage.
- Your GL Reader projects, highlights, comments, notes, links and Briefs.
- Your case diary — district, High Court, Supreme Court and tribunal matters.
- Clients, case notes, invoices, team members and notification history.
How to delete it
From the app
Open the Library sidebar, tap the account button and choose
Delete account. The app shows you exactly what will be removed — documents,
files in storage, projects and cases — and asks you to type DELETE to confirm
before anything happens.
By email
Write to [email protected] from the email address on your account, or from a number we can match to it, and ask us to delete your account. We may ask one question to confirm it is you. We complete deletion within 30 days and email you when it is done.
How long it takes
Your data goes from our live systems immediately, or within 30 days of an emailed request. Copies in routine encrypted backups are overwritten within 6 months.
What we may have to keep
Where the law requires it — for example invoice and tax records — we keep the minimum for the period the law sets, and nothing else. It is not used for anything but that obligation.
Subscriptions are separate
If you subscribe, Apple or Google holds that subscription against your store account, not ours. Deleting your account here does not cancel it. Cancel it in the App Store or Play Store first, or you will continue to be billed.
