GL Reader — Terms of Use

Last updated 27 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and GL Reader ("we", "us"), of Building No. 55, Panchkuian Road, Connaught Place, New Delhi 110001, India, covering the GL Reader apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and Windows. By using GL Reader you accept them.

Who may use it

GL Reader is built for advocates and their staff. You must be 18 or over and able to enter into a contract. You need a GenLaw account to sign in; registration is free.

GL Reader does not give legal advice. It is a tool for working on your own files. Its AI answers, case-law results and summaries are aids to your work, not a substitute for your professional judgment — verify every citation and every proposition against the authority itself before you rely on it in court or advise a client. You remain responsible for the work you produce.

Your documents stay yours

You keep all rights in the documents you upload and the notes, comments and Briefs you write. You grant us only the permission needed to store them, process them so the app works — search, text extraction, and answering your own questions about them — and show them back to you on your devices. We do not use your documents to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy.

You confirm you are entitled to upload what you upload, and that doing so does not breach a duty of confidence or a court order. Where material is privileged or subject to reporting restrictions, handling it appropriately remains your professional responsibility.

Using it fairly

Plans and limits

A free plan and a paid GL Reader Pro plan are available. Each carries allowances — the number of matters and documents, storage, and monthly allowances for AI questions, case-law and Acts searches. Current allowances are shown in the app. We may adjust them; where a change reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you before it applies to a period you have paid for.

Reading, annotating and offline access to documents already on your device are never metered.

Subscriptions

Availability and your files

We work to keep GL Reader running but do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may add, change or withdraw features. Documents you have saved offline remain readable on your device without a connection. GL Reader is not a system of record. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose; we are not your document archive.

Ending your use

Stop whenever you like by deleting your account — see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or where the law requires it, and will tell you why where it is reasonable to do so. A paid period already covered will be honoured or refunded unless the closure follows serious misuse.

Liability

GL Reader is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for any outcome in a matter in which the app was used. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and tell you in the app before a significant change takes effect. Continuing to use GL Reader afterwards means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction.
